New performance space at Dequindre Cut to be dedicated Thursday

A new small-scale performance venue at the Dequindre Cut in Detroit will officially open Thursday. The performance space constructed by Tooles is located at the base of the Lafayette Street ramp between Orleans and St. Aubin streets along the two-mile Dequindre Cut, which is a paved greenway that connects Eastern Market and the Detroit riverfront. Veterans Park and War Memorial dedication in Dearborn

The City of Dearborn, along with the Dearborn Allied War Veterans Council, held a dedication ceremony for the new site of its Veterans Park and War Memorial at the Henry Ford Centennial Library. Tooles performed the construction. The six-month process began with the transfer of four monoliths from its previous location at the former Dearborn City Hall. Dedicated there in 1991, the monuments had to be removed from the property because the city no longer owns the building. The four 7-foot monoliths are dedicated to the 340 Dearborn soldiers who lost their lives in World War I, World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Read More »
