After years of debate about what to do with the former Detroit Tigers Stadium site, city youth will be able to play baseball, football and soccer at the historic Corktown location starting in Spring 2018.
Tooles currently serves as the Construction Manager on the new 20,000 square feet multi-sport youth complex with an athletic/training program with year round outdoor athletic amenities and with a full restoration of the historic Tiger Stadium (Navin Field) playing field surface. The $11.3-million PAL headquarters will be an L-shaped structure along Cochrane and Michigan Avenues that partially encloses the historic playing field in the city’s Corktown district. When completed, the new stadium will include the Detroit Police Athletic League’s (PAL) first permanent headquarters, the Willie Horton Field of Dreams, 2,500 seat capacity, a banquet facility/leadership center, dugouts, locker rooms, storage space for sports gear and more. Detroit PAL will be programming a variety of sports on the field, including baseball, softball, T-ball, coach pitch, football, cheer, soccer, basketball, golf, track & field and volley ball.
