Project Description:
Tooles served as the Construction Manager/General Contractor for the complete renovation of Mt. Elliott Park along with URS Corporation who served as Program Manager. The project is 0.17 miles and is located along the Detroit River, bound by the Detroit River to the south, Wight Street to the north, the former Uniroyal property to the east, and the United States Coast Guard facility to the west within the City of Detroit. The scope of work included the construction of a pavilion, universally accessible water feature/playscape, tensile structure, reshaping the shoreline and non-motorized path. Tooles also self-performed concrete work which includes decorative concrete, sidewalks, paths, curb and gutter, foundations and water feature for the new pavilion/water feature as well as cold formed metal framing, metal studs, drywall, insulation, rough carpentry, acoustical ceilings, toilet accessories and installation of doors, frames and hardware. The park is currently LEED Certified.
